Dental Nursing is a very rewarding career with plenty of opportunity for continued training and development.
Tooth Fairies is Wales’ only dental specific training centre offering ample development opportunities for all.
We offer a large number of CPD courses and additional skills courses for DCP’s to allow them to expand their scope of practice.
Our locum agency services cover Wales and South West areas.
The Level 3 Dental Nurse Diploma Award is delivered through City & Guilds usually over a 20-24 month period, your studies with us run alongside your job in a dental practice working at chairside.
If you study on an Apprenticeship route with us, the Dental Nursing Framework will also include additional Awards and will usually take slightly longer 22-24 months in duration.
The Level 3 Dental Nurse Award will give you the knowledge and competency to work safely as part of the dental team caring for patients.
Once successfully completed you will be able to apply for registration with General Dental Council (GDC), for your licence to practise as a dental care professional (DCP).
You will need to find a dental practice that is happy to employ you as a Trainee Dental Nurse. When you are settled into contracted employment, we will work with you to help you start your study.
Whilst we do not offer recruitment solutions for students, we are quite often approached by practices who are hoping to take on a Trainee Dental Nurse. We will share their Trainee Dental Nurse vacancies on our social media pages so keep your eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages and be sure to give us a follow!
Once you have achieved your initial qualification and are registered with the GDC you will be required to keep your knowledge and skills up to date with your Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
At Tooth Fairies we provide lots of CPD courses that can help you to keep your CPD up to date.
We also offer hands on practical courses to DCP’s who wish to expand their scope by developing additional skills.
We hold a bank of DCP staff, dental nurses, hygienists and therapists – all are qualified, indemnified, immunised and up to date with CPD, and current in their practise, (minimum of 3 years’ experience to work with us).
If you wish to make a booking for cover whenever you need to, we will be happy to help. We can help with sickness, long and short term, right up to maternity cover for up to a year.
I’ve recently completed my Dental Nurse Training with Tooth Fairies and can’t recommend them enough!! I started in September 2019 and have just qualified. Tooth fairies helped me with the whole process - from helping to set up interviews for me with dental practices to get me a paid placement, through to the final exams.
My tutor Carly helped me so much, giving me such good guidance on the written work and examinations. This allowed me to complete the course and qualify during the lockdown! She was so easy to get along with and I was never hesitant to ask for help off of her.
They are a great team who will support you and guide you through all of the training!! And I now have a career in dental nursing thanks to Tooth Fairies
Debbie could not have been more helpful and kind, taking me on after being let down by another training provider. Carly was my assessor and she was amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble and with their support I was qualified within 4 months after moving across to them. I got better results in my exams and my understanding was much better having had much better teaching.
Thank you ladies for all your help in what was a difficult situation. Could not have done a better job. Just wish I had done my training with Tooth Fairies from the beginning!
Dental Nursing is a very rewarding career with plenty of opportunity for continued training and development.
